Vestry Minutes
September 13, 2026
Attendees: Fr David Wilcox, Steve Hirtzel, Paul Patrick, Cyndi Troyer, Kim Gerhardt, Penny Krupp, Linda Wallace,Gabriel Sparks, Karen Hauswald.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 12:03 PM by Fr David.
Bible Study: The Vestry began with prayer and a Bible study of Acts 3:1-10, The Coming of the Holy Spirit.
August Minutes: The August minutes were approved with no edits.
Rector’s Report:
- Average Sunday Attendance is currently 54
- 2 new visitors and confirmation class is beginning
- Fr David is beginning a continuing education course, Shaping the Parish
- His day off is moving to Monday and he is taking vacation from 21-26
- Pet Blessing is October 10 at Lord of Love Lutheran Church
- The Clergy conference is October 4-7
- Realm transition will be completed Sept 27
- The Path study ended with attendance between 12-16
- Signs and Grace will begin on September 23
- Morning Prayer is being offered Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 8:30 AM
- Forward Movement initiative highlights keys to growing parishes
- Visitor Follow Up
- The Vestry “thinks strategically”
- Personal invitations are best
- Child care for non-Sunday activities
Senior Warden’s Report:
- Film crew will be using our parking lot again
- Our current custodian services were discussed
- Youth Group will go to Johnson Farms on the 27th
- Trunk or Treat needs volunteers for October 30th
- We need to consider how to raise more funds
Treasurer’s Report:
- Realm transition comes with new reports
- We passed our audit
- The Endowment is officially funded
- Bulletin prices will increase
Ministries Report:
- Realm is how we will be scheduling servers for Sunday and is the source of truth.
- Welcoming Committee has met.
- The Vestry discussed how to support Coffee Hour better
Junior Warden’s Report:
- Push mower has been replaced
- It is time for mower maintenance
- We need to re-seal the parking lot
- The new sign has a proof and the down payment made
Old Business:
- We discussed the Narrative Budget
- The Stewardship Committee has selected a theme: Grateful Hearts. Giving Hands.
New Business:
- The Walk for Single Moms is October 3.
- The next Vestry Meeting will be October 18.
