Vestry Meeting Minutes
December 14, 2025
Attendees: Fr. David Wilcox, Steve Hirtzel, Cyndi Troyer, Paul Patrick, Regina Berens, Kim Gerhardt, Susan Petrakos, Karen Hauswal, Penny Krupp, and Jane Brucker
The meeting was called to order by Steve Hirtzel and opened with a prayer from Fr. David at 3PM.
Previous Meeting Minutes: The meeting minutes of the November 9 th meeting were approved as submitted.
Rector’s Report: Fr. David presented a written report outlining many of his activities since the previous meeting as well as several upcoming events. Please see attached.
Stewardship Campaign Update: This year’s campaign reached 100% of its goal and includes nine new pledging units.
2026 Budget: Cyndi presented an updated proposed 2026 budget. All items were reviewed. After discussion, the 2026 Budget was approved.
Safety& Security: We received a breakdown of the insurance claim for the stolen mower. Payment was issued in the amount of $2,467.49. We are looking to replace the mower in time for mowing season. The lights in the parking lot as well as on the House of Grace have been updated. They are LED and provide significant light. Cameras have also been installed; however, this in not a monitored system. Options for an alarm system is being researched to determine feasibility.
Steve’s Report to the Vestry: Sunday School has been going well with an increase of attendees. The Youth Group had a successful Crafts with Santa followed by pizza and fellowship. January’s meeting is being planned as an outing at Chicken & Pickle for ice skating and pickleball.
Final Year-End Items: The Vestry resolved the designation of $22,000 as a housing allowance for 2026 based on Fr. David’s total compensation of $32,500. This resolution was adopted unanimously. (Resolution copy attached)
The letter concerning the 2026 diocesan assessment was signed. It was explained in that letter that the Vestry did not believe we would be able to meet the assessment and requested forgiveness in the amount of $13,839.00 of the $21,039.00. (copy of letter attached).
Nominees for the open Vestry positions are being pursued. If there are not enough nominees to fill the three positions which will be open, the number of vestry members may be reduced in accordance with the bylaws. The new vestry will be elected at the yearly meeting in January.
The next Vestry meeting will be held immediately following the Yearly Meeting.
