Opening Prayer:  Steve Hirtzel opened the meeting with a prayer at noon

Approval of Prior Month’s Meeting Minutes:  The meeting minutes were approved as published

Priest Report:  Fr. David reviewed his activities for the month:  there were about 33 in attendance for the Ash Wednesday service.  Chet Newmann’s service hosted about 120 people.  He attended Welcome the Strangers program, and several other group meetings.  The Sunday after Easter, he will be baptizing three (3) new members, Paige, Billie, and Maisie Phillips.  Fr. David met with Tom Kokjer and they are working on a proposal to submit in April to the Diocese finance committee relating to the refinancing of our mortgage.  We also received a grant for the sewage pumps we replaced in the fall last year.

Financial Update:  Cyndi asked if there were any questions concerning the financial reports she had sent out.  The skylight for the House of Grace will need to be reattached (it blew off during one of the wind events) and the heat pump in the east Sanctuary may need to be serviced.

Continuing Business:

Building & Grounds:   Paul reported that they always welcome additional members to the mowing team and the request will be added to the bulletin and The Call.

On-site Events:  There is a Community Garden Work Day on March 15th from 10 to Noon.  An inquiry has been made about a potential wedding in May.  Fr. David will be leading a Lenten Study via Google Meet on Wednesday’s during Lent.  Bishop Amy will be visiting on June 1st; confirmation classes will be held so those interested can be confirmed.

Future Events & Happenings:

The BBQ Patio is a go and will be pour, weather permitting, in the next couple of weeks.

It was proposed that we offer a YouTube link for an additional $50 for weddings – this was approved.

The Belton Glow Run is April 5, and we have a table.  Snacks and drinks will be handed out.

Update on Shed and Greenhouse:  Per Steve and Sarah—they are in the works.

National Labyrinth Day – Though it is May 3rd, Mickie Hodapp asked about heading it on Sunday, May 4; however, I have not had success reaching out to her to solidify the plans.

We have a table at the Belton 5K on May 3rd.

The Heart N Hand Gala is May 17 – more information to follow.

Steve mentioned that Scott’s Miracle Grow in Harrisonville will donate product for the community garden and they are looking for someone with a truck who would be willing to pick it up.

Special Funds Envelope:  This is still in the works

New Business:

Curriculum for Sunday School – Fr. David purchased an updated curriculum.  We need more teachers.  A request will be posted in The Call and in the Bulletin.

We also need someone to help with the Communications – this will be posted as well.

A letter from Belton Fire District requested a $40 donation – this was approved.

It was suggested that we publish a list of opportunities in both The Call and in the Bulletin.

Closing Prayer:  The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 with a prayer by Fr. David.

**Subsequent confirmation was made for the date of April’s Vestry Meeting – April 13th – Palm Sunday.
