As we move into fall and a new program year, we’re creating a few new opportunities to pause, pray, and make space for God in the midst of our busy lives through the Daily Office, the Church’s ancient pattern of prayer.
In the Daily Office, we come together in God’s presence to offer our praise, hear his holy Word, and pray for ourselves and for others. The Daily Office grounds us in God’s saving work throughout history, unites us in prayer with Christians around the world, and, through the psalms, gives voice to every possible emotion and occasion of human life, placing them before God.
Beginning this Sunday, September 6th join us for Sunday Morning Prayer at 8:30 a.m. in the nave. This is a chance to begin the day in prayer, prepare our hearts for the Eucharist, and pray for all who will worship with us, as well as all those whom God is calling to join our community. It is a simple way to begin our Sunday by turning our attention toward God and the work he is doing among us.
During the week, Morning Prayer will be offered at 8:30 a.m. in the nave on Tuesdays and Thursdays when the office is open. This brief, quiet time of prayer is an invitation to slow down, take a breath, and begin the day grounded in God’s presence together.
Beginning September 23, Compline will be offered on Wednesday evenings on Google Meet at the conclusion of Bible Study, giving us a chance to end the day by pausing, and placing ourselves, our loved ones and the whole world in God’s care. Even if you don’t join us for Bible Study, you’re welcome to pray with us!
We hope these new opportunities will help make prayer a more regular part of our life together, and that you’ll join us when you can.
