Vestry Minutes
April 13, 2026
Attendees: Fr David Wilcox, Steve Hirtzel, Paul Patrick, Cyndi Troyer, Karen Hauswald, Kim Gerhardt, Penny Krupp, Linda Wallace, Gabriel Sparks
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:11 PM by Fr David.
Bible Study: The Vestry began with prayer and a Bible study of Acts 2:1-12, The Coming of the Holy Spirit.
March Minutes: The March minutes were approved with no edits
Rector’s Report:
- Lenten study concluded
- 20 More on Easter than last year.
- Fr David and Gabriel attended the Chrism Mass
- Bishops are concerned about priestly formation and Eucharist under Special Circumstances.
- Newcomers gathering went well with two out of seven attended.
- 1 adult reception when the Bishop visits.
- Fr David is out next week (20-25).
- The Welcome Committee met last week. Karen Hauswald, Cyndi and Donna
- ASA for March was 56.
Senior Warden Report
- Pirate Dash
- Linda and Penny volunteered to cover the Belton 5k for Health Run on May 2nd.
- 6 intrepid walkers at the Martin City St Patrick’s Day. Crowds down due to weather. Possibly doing Belton next year.
- 4 at Youth Group on Sunday.
- The May/June event on the 31st will be a cook out and glow in the dark event.
Treasurer Report:
- Full pledges are coming in early.
- Quarterly statements have gone out.
- Principle is continuing to go down.
Junior Warden Report:
- Cameras are working and mower security is no longer a concern.
- Entrance sign is fantastic.
Ministry Reports:
- Liturgy & Worship – Cyndi – Acolyte training was successful. Holy week was busy. New Schedule is coming out.
- Pastoral Care – Kim – Intercessory prayer list is going to be added.
- Fellowship & Parish Life – Karen and Penny – God and Guinness needs to move. Women’s book club is going well.
- Outreach & Community Engagement – Steve and Linda – Lots of new planting.
- Communication & Digital Presence – Chris and Gabriel – The Call will be changing.
- Christian Formation – Gabriel – No Sunday School in July and part of August.
Old Business
- Painting the Front door – There are questions about what all is entailed in each quote, though one seems to stand out over the others. Karen has follow up questions and will try to get additional information about the repairs
- The extra $5403.22 insurance money has arrived (approximately 2k more than expected). It was voted to cover some community garden expenses and the remainder deposited in the Building and Grounds general fund. The exact numbers are going to be determined
New Business
- Cyndi Troyer brought up for discussion moving from Aplos to Realm for accounting and Church database management and approved the additional cost of $70 per month.
- The Vestry approved purchase of up to 4 new hearing assistance devices for the nave with the cost being approximately $200 a piece.
- The Vestry discussed updating our wedding policy. This was tabled to the May meeting.
- The Vestry endorsed Gabriel Sparks Lay Preaching application.
