Our Camp

Nestled within the natural beauty of our church grounds, the St. Mary Magdalene Campground is our response to a growing desire, both locally and within the wider Church, for simple and accessible outdoor spaces where small groups can gather, rest, and reconnect. Dedicated on June 21, 2017, the campground offers an affordable outdoor weekend experience for scouting groups, youth groups, and church communities, available at little or no cost.

The land itself invites slowing down. Early mornings and dusks often bring sightings of black-tailed deer grazing near the woods, the occasional coyote crossing the property, or wild turkeys moving along the tree line. Birdsong fills the air throughout the day, and in the evenings the frogs around the pond provide a steady chorus. Cattails line the water’s edge, offering a natural habitat where red-winged blackbirds regularly make their home.

The campground is designed to be both restorative and engaging. Plans are underway for walking paths through the wooded areas, offering quiet moments away from the noise of daily life, space for reflection, prayer, or simply noticing the beauty of creation. For more active moments, campers can enjoy a small recreation area, including a basketball space that provides an easy way for young campers to play and unwind together.

For those seeking a more contemplative experience, the church’s outdoor labyrinth offers a peaceful place for prayer, meditation, or reflection on values and purpose. Walking this ancient path provides a meaningful spiritual practice for individuals and groups alike.

To support overnight and weekend use, the campground includes access to water, electricity, toilet facilities, donated firewood, and convenient parking near the campsite. An indoor shelter is also available in case of sudden inclement weather. To help offset the cost of portable restroom rental and basic maintenance, a suggested donation of $125 per day is requested.

The St. Mary Magdalene Campground is a place to gather, to rest, and to rediscover the quiet gifts of the natural world. We are glad to share it with groups seeking simplicity, community, and space to breathe.
