Worship
Sundays @ 10:30 am
Holidays and Special Services as announced.
Worship is at the heart of our life together. In worship, we come together to give thanks and praise to God, to hear Scripture brought to life and connected to our everyday experiences, and to celebrate our relationship with God and one another through Holy Communion.
Our worship is blended—both ancient and contemporary. It is rooted in the rich hymnody and liturgical traditions of the early Church, yet relevant, fresh, and alive with the music and spirit of today. It’s never stuffy or rigid, and never shallow or sentimental.
This is worship that is life-giving, inspiring, and transformative. We hope you’ll join us.

Weather Cancellation Policy
St. Mary Magdalene will hold worship service every Sunday, barring catastrophe. Weather will not deter the priest or an assigned lay person to provide Eucharist or Morning Prayer.
Non-worship events will be cancelled based on the local school system schedule. If your public school is closed because of the weather, non-worship events, meetings and classes and other scheduled SMM programs will be cancelled.
All are encouraged to make a decision to attend services based on their comfort levels and good judgement for safety. Where ever two or three are gathered, we will have church.
God’s many blessings to all!

Excellence in Worship
From the beginning, excellence in worship and music has been central to our identity. Our vibrant music program reflects this commitment, drawing us into beauty, awe, and a deeper connection with God.
We embrace blended worship, incorporating a wide variety of musical styles—from 16th-century motets to contemporary choruses, traditional hymns, folk tunes, spirituals, Taizé chants, and more. On any Sunday, you might hear a chanted psalm, a guitar-led chorus, a violin or flute prelude, or a meditative prayer song. Our music reflects the richness of our tradition and the joy of worshiping in the present.
A special part of our worship life is our organ, built by the Wicks Organ Company in 1969 and originally housed in the home of James and Carlene Neihart. A gifted and well-known Kansas City organist, Mrs. Neihart played for churches and in concert for many years. When she could no longer play, the Neiharts donated the organ to St. Mary Magdalene. Thanks to their generosity and the support of our parish, it was installed in 2013.
Come sing and pray with us—experience the power and beauty of worship that stirs the soul and lifts the heart.
